Assembly
The SNAP House was designed specifically with the intention that it would be easily assembled and disassembled multiple times. As part of our system of prefabrication, the SNAP House was broken up into 4 individual modules conforming to the 8'5" width of a standard drop-deck flatbed truck. Each module has a system of rollers permanently attached to its underside, allowing it to be lowered onto a system of structural rails, and then easily rolled into position.
When each SNAP module is located properly, it is attached to its adjacent SNAP module using foam gaskets and 'SNAP connectors' - steel L channels and bolts that are architecturally expressed on the inside of the house.
