SNAP House
The design of the SNAP House embraces the essential
architectural issues of structure, aesthetics, and economy by
using passive design and cutting-edge technology to support
a wholly sustainable lifestyle for its inhabitants.
The mobility and environmental issues inherent in the design challenge spurred innovation in both the aesthetics and engineering of the house.
The notion of a set of SNAP modules that combine to form a
solution adaptable to a variety of living situations has guided
our design. We have followed this logic to create programmatic
modules - Kitchen, Bath, Bed, and Office. The functions of the
SNAPs, and the necessary objects concentrated in them, have
helped to determine the adjacency of spaces.
