Why Solar Power?
solar panelSolar power is cheaper than it ever has been, and continues to get cheaper as technology advances. But why should we turn to the sun to create our electricity? What is wrong with the way we obtain our electricity right now?
Cost For one thing, the sun is free. It provides us with heat and light every day, without fail. The technology exists for us to convert that dependable sunlight into dependable energy. Utilizing a free resource instead of one which consumes a large and increasing amount of our incomes seems like a pretty easy cost-cutting decision. While the initial investment in solar power is relatively high, that initial cost pays for itself in a matter of years, and after that payback period, all money that would have gone to the electric utility goes straight to savings.

Currently, we obtain our electricity via unsightly electrical lines, which carry currents from fossil fuel-burning power plants. The price we pay for the extraction of oil, coal, and natural gas is the disruption and destruction of natural environments - places that not only provide habitats for thousands of animal species, but also cleanse the air we breathe and the water we drink.
